Five Guys, which today has more than 1,400 locations, began offering franchises in 2003; Firehouse Subs, begun by fireman brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, started franchising in 2005 and today has over 1,000 locations. These may be hurdles, but they are not unconquerable.
